Floyd Abrams Appears before U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

Today, Floyd Abrams delivered oral testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform concerning issues relating to the imposition of liability on credit rating agencies. 

In his testimony, Floyd discussed some of the pending cases involving Standard & Poors ("S&P"), along with recent proposals to amend the pleading standards in new cases brought against S&P and other Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organizations ("NRSROs").  His testimony also addressed certain protections that apply to S&P and other rating agencies under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
