In October, The Legal Aid Society honored Diego Ibarguen, an attorney from Cahill Gordon and Reindel, for his pro bono work with the Education Advocacy Project (EAP).

Diego has provided representation for four clients in foster care who have developmental delays or disabilities.  He has negotiated individualized education plans for preschool and school-age students and in one case, obtained compensatory services to make up for the Department of Edcation's failure to provide a child with the services to which he was legally entitled.Diego's extraordinary efforts have not only helped his clients develop academically, but have also helped stabilize their foster care placements.

The law firm Cahill Gordon and Reindel partnered with EAP in 2005 to provide representation to EAP's youngest clients. The firm now handles almost all of EAP's Early Intervention and Preschool special education cases.  Attorneys from Cahill have achieved remarkable results for over 83 EAP clients.
