Our bankruptcy and restructuring attorneys have represented all major constituencies in domestic and cross-border restructuring matters, both in formal bankruptcy and other court proceedings and in out-of-court transactions. We represent companies in Chapter 11 cases. Our attorneys represented Anchor Glass, Anvil Knitwear, Complete Retreats (d/b/a Tanner & Haley Resorts), and Galey & Lord as Chapter 11 debtors, to name a few.
We counsel banks, underwriters, funds, and equity sponsors/investors in bankruptcy and restructuring matters. By way of example, we represented the Bank of America in Foamex and Formica, Deutsche Bank in Exide Technologies and RCN Corp., JP Morgan Chase in Northwest Airlines, and UBS in Seitel. In addition, we represent purchasers of distressed assets out of bankruptcy, and our attorneys represented One Equity Partners in Polaroid and Bruckmann Rosser & Sherrill in Chevys Restaurants, among many others.
We advise other major constituencies in bankruptcy and domestic and foreign restructuring and insolvency matters, such as creditors, boards of directors, bondholders, official and ad hoc committees, foreign representatives, and trustees, including having actively participated in the bankruptcy cases of Delphi, Refco, and United Airlines.
We frequently assist clients in litigation situations with respect to various debtor/creditor issues, including claims objections, preferences, fraudulent conveyances, debt recharacterization, equitable subordination, deepening insolvency, lender liability, and other related litigation matters, both prior to and during bankruptcy and other judicial proceedings, including Burlington Energy in Enron and Deutsche Bank in Bayou.
