Doug is a member of the Firm's Hiring Committee and its corporate practice group.
Doug represents leading investment banking firms, commercial banks and public and private corporations with a focus on leveraged finance transactions involving high-yield debt securities, syndicated institutional loans and asset based loans. He has represented the financing sources in a number of recent acquisitions, including the pending buyout of Bell Canada and completed leveraged buyouts of hospital-operator HCA, SunGard Data Systems, VNU / Nielsen, The Tribune Company, ARAMARK, Thomson Learning, U.S. Foodservice, Biomet, Avaya and TXU Corp.
Doug works on both the bank and high-yield bond sides of acquisition financings and has practiced in a variety of industries such as oil and gas, automotive, healthcare, technology, publishing and telecommunications. He is a recommended corporate practioner in high-yield by Euromoney's IFLR 1000 - The Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms (2008).

- Representation of JPMorgan, Citi and other commercial banks in providing various debt financings for the $45 billion acquisition of TXU Corp. by KKR and TPG.
- Representation of Deutsche Bank and other investment banks in providing $3.0 billion of high-yield debt securities financing for the acquisition of SunGard Data Systems Inc. by a consortium of private equity firms.
- Representation of Bank of America and other commercial banks in providing a $2.0 billion asset based loan as part of the financing for the acquisition of HCA, Inc. by a consortium of private equity firms.
- Representation of JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Citi and Bank of America in providing $10 billion of syndicated loan financing to The Tribune Company in connection with a going private transaction supported by Sam Zell.
- Representation of Deutsche Bank and other investment banks in providing over $1.6 billion of high-yield debt securities financing for the acquisition of VNU by a consortium of private equity firms.
- Representation of JPMorgan and other investment banks in providing over $1.7 billion of high-yield debt securities financing for the acquisition of ARAMARK Corporation by a consortium of private equity firms.
- Representation of the various underwriters for eight debt securities offerings by Xerox Corporation, together generating over $5.9 billion of proceeds.
- Representation of TriMas Corporation (NYSE:TRS) in connection with its initial public offering of common stock.
- Representation of Citi and other commercial banks in providing an asset based loan of $1.1 billion for the acquisition of U.S. Foodservice by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and KKR.
- Representation of Bank of America and other commercial banks in providing a multi-currency asset based loan of $1.35 billion for the acquisition of Ryerson Inc. by Platinum Equity.
