Jim's practice is principally focused on high-yield financings and cross-border lending in Europe where he represents investment banking firms, commercial banks and issuers. He specializes in advising clients in both Europe and the US on structuring multi-jurisdictional financings. Jim also advises non-US companies on US securities laws. Jim is top-ranked in capital markets by Chambers Europe, Chambers UK, The Legal 500 and IFLR 1000: Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms.
Jim began his legal career at Cahill in 1984, following his graduation from Albany Law School. He took four years away from Cahill beginning in 1990, during which he volunteered for the Peace Corps.
Jim became a partner in 1999.
