Cahill represented ICON plc (NASDAQ: ICLR), a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, in connection with the acquisition of Healthcare Discoveries, Inc., formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of Catalyst Pharma Group Inc. The purchase price for the acquisition consisted of an upfront payment of $12 million and an additional payment of $10 million if certain milestones are achieved in 2008. Healthcare Discoveries operates a clinical pharmacology unit in San Antonio, Texas.
