Real Estate

Our real estate practice is an essential part of the firm's overall transactional practice. Our lawyers work closely with some of the largest investment and commercial banking firms in financing transactions involving real estate such as acquisition financings, sale-leaseback financings and related dispositions and acquisitions of real property in the United States and elsewhere.  In addition, we provide counsel to corporate clients on large-scale real estate financings and restructurings, project finance and the leasing, purchase, sale, development, management and operation of industrial, commercial and residential property throughout the United States.

We have substantial experience in negotiating real estate joint ventures and we structure and implement complex sale-leaseback and leveraged lease arrangements to secure tax and other benefits for domestic and foreign participants.  We have advised clients on the restructuring of failing real estate companies and in connection with remediation and redevelopment ventures.

We represent both owners and lessees in commercial leasing transactions.  Our practice also involves the representation of off-shore investors in major commercial property transactions throughout Manhattan.

Among major firms, Cahill may be noted in the real estate area for its diversity of experience and its ability to develop innovative transactional structures.
