The feature examines the firm’s strategy, led by Chair of Cahill’s Executive Committee Herb Washer, to build on its longstanding strengths in leveraged finance and high-yield debt while expanding in areas including bankruptcy, M&A, project finance, digital infrastructure, and digital assets. As one industry observer told Bloomberg Law, the 107-year-old firm is “punching way above their weight.”
Bloomberg Law also reports on Cahill’s 2025 revenue and partner profits, as well as the firm’s expectations for continued double-digit growth in 2026.
The profile highlights Cahill’s growth in digital infrastructure, noting that Cahill lawyers have worked on data center transactions totaling more than $37 billion in 2026 to date and have handled more than 80% of high-yield bond data center deals. It also points to the firm’s continued investment in emerging technology through CahillNXT, its dedicated digital assets and emerging technology practice.
Herb also discussed how Cahill’s lean structure positions the firm to adapt as artificial intelligence changes the delivery of legal services.
“Cahill is one of the smaller major firms and we have made a very conscious decision to not compete on the basis of size,” Herb told Bloomberg Law. “It allows us to focus our resources and our energy on practice areas that we think have the most promise for us.”
