Joan Murtagh Frankel

During her tenure as a partner, Joan led the firm’s trusts and estates practice representing individual clients in all aspects of sophisticated estate planning and administration of estates, trusts and not-for-profit entities.

Joan practiced at Cahill for essentially her entire career (after two years in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board upon her graduation from Columbia Law School). She became a partner in 1993 and senior counsel in 2025.
