Matthew M. McDonagh is an associate in Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP’s Corporate Governance & Investigations and Litigation practice groups.
Matthew’s practice is focused on advising global companies, boards of directors, audit committees, and officers and directors in connection with internal investigations, white-collar defense and compliance counseling. He has represented clients in criminal, civil, and enforcement proceedings relating to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He also advises companies on compliance matters as well as risk mitigation in connection with potential transactions. Matthew’s cross-border experience on investigative and compliance matters includes conducting FCPA compliance assessments in Kenya and South Africa. He also served as counsel to the Independent Monitor of Toyota Motor Corporation as part of a deferred prosecution agreement, focusing on guiding the company in the development and implementation of a centralized compliance program.
Prior to working as a Summer Associate at Cahill, Matthew was a summer law clerk to the Hon. Harold Baer, Jr., in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
