Michael D. Wheatley is counsel in Cahill’s Washington, D.C. office.
Michael's practice focuses on advising public and private companies in litigation and regulatory matters. He has experience representing clients in enforcement matters involving the the DOJ, SEC, FINRA, and in litigation in federal and state courts. Prior to joining Cahill, Michael was an attorney in the legal department of Towers Watson & Co., a publicly-traded management and actuarial consulting firm, where he focused on litigation and compliance matters. Michael has written on insider trading and cybersecurity and has contributed to materials involving securities litigation and corporate governance.
Upon graduating law school, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ira DeMent of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama (2010-2011), and the Honorable Michael H. Schneider of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas (2011-2013).
