Thomas has successfully represented clients in high value, complex and precedent-setting disputes. He has acted on disputes relating to civil fraud, breach of contract, mis-selling and benchmark setting, as well as on high-profile interbank litigation, including disputes relating to structured products. A number of these disputes have included important decisions in the area of legal professional privilege.
Thomas’ extensive investigations experience spans both regulatory and internal investigations, frequently with a cross-border element. He has represented clients in regulatory inquiries by a variety of agencies in the U.K., the U.S., Europe and Asia, and has handled a significant number of internal investigations for clients on a wide range of matters, including relating to regulatory compliance, accounting issues, general conduct and potential market abuse, reporting results to both regulators and boards of directors.
Earlier in his career, Thomas spent time on secondment at two international banks in London, working on a variety of disputes, internal investigations and regulatory matters.
