Recent SEC Regulatory Developments Regarding Short Sales

Recently, the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") has been actively engaged in regulating short sales of public equities and has placed a number of additional restrictions on the practice through a series of releases and emergency orders. The SEC's actions have been largely aimed at "naked" short sales in an attempt to address abusive "naked" short selling of equity securities.
