John J. Schuster is a member of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP's corporate practice group.  

John's practice is focused on corporate and securities work, representing both public and private issuers and lenders in connection with public and private securities offerings, bank and second lien financings, and general corporate and securities work.

John has also represented numerous issuers, investment banks and lenders in public and private transactions, many involving highly leveraged entities. He has represented acquiring companies, acquired companies, lenders and financial advisors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions of public and private companies, and has defended public companies against tender offers and proxy contests. John is recognized among the top M&A lawyers by The Legal 500.

John has thirty plus years of experience representing high yield and mezzanine lenders in corporate and securities transactions. John participated in the formation of the middle market lending office of Banque Indosuez (now Calyon) and represented the Bank in approximately 100 financing transactions over seven years, consisting of senior, mezzanine and/or equity financings.

John received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Manhattan College in 1974 and is a 1977 graduate of Fordham University School of Law, where he was Commentary Editor of the Fordham Law Review.
