Cahill Secures Third ATA Dismissal for Binance

May 28, 2026

Cahill secured a significant victory for Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, obtaining dismissal of a complaint brought under the Anti-Terrorism Act ("ATA"), with billions of dollars in damages potentially at stake. The lawsuit alleged that entities operating the Binance.com exchange aided and abetted acts of terrorism by permitting terrorist-linked users to transact on the platform.

On May 29, 2026, U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted Binance's motion to dismiss in full, and dismissed the ATA claims with prejudice. The CahillNXT team handled the motion-to-dismiss briefing on behalf of Binance. This marks the third ATA lawsuit dismissal secured by the CahillNXT team, Binance's in-house legal team, and co-counsel at Withers on behalf of Binance this year.
