Sanctuary for Families Honors Cahill and Attorneys with 2020 Above & Beyond Pro Bono Achievement Awards

Cahill and several attorneys will be recognized at Sanctuary for Families’ 2020 Above & Beyond Pro Bono Achievement Awards benefit on October 29, 2020.
Associates Andrea Abarca, George Harris and Tobin Raju will be awarded for their tireless and compassionate work on behalf of domestic violence victims. Their efforts secured a one-year order of protection for our client, as well as a final uncontested divorce from her abuser.
The Firm is also being honored for our work as a founding member of Sanctuary’s Virtual Courtroom Advocates Project (VCAP), along with the entire VCAP team. Jenny Patt, Ngozi Esomonu, and Loryn Davis were specifically named for their commitment as repeat volunteers.
Since 1997, Cahill lawyers have worked with Sanctuary for Families to provide legal advocacy for domestic violence victims seeking protective orders in Family Court, legal counseling to immigrant domestic violence victims seeking permanent resident status or citizenship, and legal advice to victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking in matters outside of litigation. Sanctuary for Families is New York’s leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence.
