Anirudh Bansal, Former Assistant United States Attorney and Co-Chief of the SDNY's Complex Frauds Unit, Joins Cahill

Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP is pleased to announce that Anirudh Bansal, most recently an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and Co-Chief of the SDNY's Complex Frauds Unit, has joined the firm as Counsel in its corporate governance & investigations, litigation and crisis advisory practice groups.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Co-Chief of the Complex Frauds Unit, Mr. Bansal supervised or was the lead prosecutor in dozens of white collar criminal cases, including matters involving securities fraud, fraud against financial institutions and by insiders of financial institutions, investment fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, obstruction of criminal investigations, mortgage fraud, tax fraud, criminal violations of Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other financial crimes. Earlier, Mr. Bansal served in the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit, and was Chief of the International Narcotics Trafficking Unit. Mr. Bansal joined the U.S. Attorney's Office in 2000.

Mr. Bansal clerked for Hon. United States District Judge Alfred J. Lechner, Jr., in the District of New Jersey in Newark, NJ. He is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where he served on the NYU Law Review, and earned his A.B., cum laude, from Princeton University.
