Cahill Represents JP Morgan in Acquisition of Majority Stake in Gávea Investimentos

Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP is representing J.P. Morgan Asset Management and its global alternative asset manager Highbridge Capital Management in its acquisition of a majority stake in Gávea Investimentos, a leading asset management company in Brazil with approximately $6 billion in assets under management. The partnership is expected to expand Highbridge and J.P. Morgan Asset Management's emerging markets and macroeconomic investment capabilities.
Highbridge and Gávea will have a relationship similar to that created by J.P. Morgan Asset Management's original purchase of Highbridge in 2004, in which Cahill also represented J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of documentation conditions and is expected to close shortly.
