Partner Craig Horowitz Named to New York State Bar Association's Tax Law Section Executive Committee

Cahill partner Craig Horowitz, head of the firm’s tax group, was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s 2,063 member Tax Law Section. The NYSBA Tax Law Section engages in many activities, including testifying before Congress, holding semi-annual meetings, sponsoring Ad hoc conferences, and commenting on proposed legislation and proposed regulatory guidance at the federal, state and local levels.
Craig recently spoke at the NYSBA’s Tax Law Section Annual Meeting as part of a panel on "New and Perennial Issues in Transactions Involving Financial Instruments.” He also served as the principal author of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section’s November 2019 report on “Tax Fungibility of Debt Instruments,” recommending significant revisions to the rules governing tax fungibility in order to make the rules better suited for the current capital markets.
