Cahill is proud to sponsor The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center’s (The Center) Women's Event on Friday, November 3, 2023 in New York City. Women’s Event, NYC’s premier event highlighting the contributions of LGBTQ+ women in their community, raises funds to sustain The Center’s programs and advocacy work; keep their doors open year-round; and provide a home, a family, and a place of safety for the community. Hosted by comedian Sam Jay, the program will also honor actor, comedian, and jazz singer Lea DeLaria with the Trailblazer Award, and honor Executive Vice President & General Counsel of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Stacey Friedman with the Corporate Leadership Award.
The Center was established in 1983 at the height of the AIDS crisis to provide a safe and affirming place for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers to respond to the urgent threats facing the community. Over the past 40 years, The Center has grown to meet the changing needs of New York’s LGBTQ+ community, delivering services that empower people to lead healthy, successful lives.
