Legal Aid Society Honors Cahill with Pro Bono Publico Award
Associates Recognized for Protection of Children Who Are Abused, Neglected or Disabled
Date: 11/06/06
Cahill was honored on November 6, 2006 with the Pro Bono Publico award from The Legal Aid Society. The award was presented "in recognition of the firm's outstanding commitment to the cause of equal justice through pro bono service." This is the second year in a row the firm has been recognized with this award.
Cahill is recognized for the firm's pro bono work on behalf of the Society's Kathryn A. McDonald Educational Advocacy Project. In addition to the award given to the firm, two Cahill associates received individual awards -- Julie Hordt, who secured preschool special education services for a foster child whose developmental needs had gone unmet for months, and Kathleen Sullivan, who provided representation on multiple cases and obtained educational services for four disabled preschool students.
