Number One Ranked Legal Advisor to High Yield Underwriters Since 2005
The Capital Markets practice of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP garnered top rankings across a range of markets and transactions in Bloomberg’s 2012 Global Legal Advisory League Tables, reflecting the firm’s prominence as legal advisors to underwriters of debt and equity securities transactions.
In a record-setting year for both deal count and value, Cahill represented global high yield underwriters in 230 transactions in 2012 with a total value of over $123 billion, capturing a 37% share of the U.S. high yield debt market and a 9% share of the Euro high yield debt market. Reflecting the surge in debt capital markets since 2010, Cahill represented global high yield underwriters in 599 high yield transactions between January 2010 and December 2012; such deals generated over $325 billion in aggregate gross proceeds.
Cahill ranked second in representing underwriters in Bloomberg’s overall corporate debt securities category in 2012, capturing a 10% share of the U.S. corporate debt market. Cahill also ranked among the most active legal advisors to global bond underwriters and to U.S. underwriters of investment grade corporate debt offerings.
On the equity side, Cahill ranked among the top ten legal advisors to underwriters of U.S. IPOs, equity offerings, and equity-linked transactions, and ranked among the top legal advisors of global underwriters of IPOs and equity offerings with 29 ranked deals with a total value of over $8.2 billion.
