Law of Internet Speech, 3rd Edition Published
Date: 02/22/08
The third edition of The Law of Internet Speech by Joel Kurtzberg and Madeleine Schachter updates and contextualizes recent developments in Internet law. The book examines the application of analytical models of First Amendment jurisprudence to Internet communications, claims of on-line defamation (including ISP immunities under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and claims involving anonymous communications), the application of common law privacy torts to digital media, the implications of data mining and Internet profiling, regulatory and statutory approaches to privacy protections, copyright infringement and trademark claims involving digital media, domain name disputes, and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The book, which includes a glossary of Internet terms, also examines how many of these concepts apply in the context of linking, framing, and metataging disputes.
