Cahill Pro Bono Team Prevails on Behalf of Sanctuary for Families

Cahill is proud to announce that on behalf of Sanctuary for Families, counsel Ivan Torres and associate Christina Lee successfully argued to uphold a custody and visitation agreement between our client and her son’s father.
The father of the child had repeatedly petitioned the Family Court to amend a 2022 custody and visitation agreement that granted our client sole legal and physical custody of the child. Having failed at the Family Court level, the father appealed to the New York First Department.
Ivan Torres delivered the oral argument, with support from Christina Lee, and persuaded the First Department to file a Decision and Order upholding the custody and visitation arrangement, citing the father’s longstanding misconduct with regard to the child’s medical condition.
