Lauren Rackow Moderates ABA Panel Discussion
Thursday, October 29, 2015 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
On Thursday, October 29th, Lauren Rackow moderated a panel discussion held by The American Bar Association entitled “Structural and Behavioral Remedies in Pharmaceutical Mergers: EU v. US.” The program focused on remedies in pharmaceutical mergers, with a component focusing on structural remedies and how the FTC and EC find suitable buyers for any divestitures (examining, among other items, the tension between looking for new entrants (in a particular narrowly defined market) and experienced firms to replace lost competition (presumably in a broader segment of the market)). The panel also explored when behavioral remedies are applied. Joining Lauren as panelists were Robin Adelstein of Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP, Gavin Bushell of Baker & McKenzie, Arthur Stril of the European Commission, and James Weiss of the Federal Trade Commission.
