Cahill Named Among the Nation's Elite Law Firms by The Legal 500 2015

38 Cahill Attorneys Named as Leaders in their Field

Date: 06/18/15

The Legal 500 United States has again ranked Cahill among the nation’s elite law firms.  The 2015 edition recommends Cahill in the following areas: Corporate Finance; Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts; Securities Litigation; White Collar Criminal Defense; Insurance; and Telecoms and Broadcast. Thirty-eight Cahill lawyers have also been named among the nation's leading practitioners in their field, with many receiving recognition in multiple fields. Cahill has been recommended by The Legal 500 in each of its United States editions since 2006.

The 2015 edition again ranked Cahill’s high yield debt practice among the top three nationally, reporting that Cahill is a "market leader when it comes to advising underwriters on high yield offerings," and "impresses with the volume of work produced by its underwriter-focused capital markets practice," with respect to other debt and equity capital markets activity. On the bank side, Cahill ranked among the eight leading practices nationally, based in part on reports that Cahill has “established itself as one of the most active firms in the market for lender work.”

With respect to M&A: middle-market (under $500 million), The Legal 500 ranked Cahill as a top tier law firm, citing the support of the firm’s strong tax, antitrust and real estate groups, in addition to its environmental, IP and employee benefits practices, to ensure smooth deal executions. With respect to Insurance: advise to insurers, Cahill was described by sources as a “leader in the area”, and “among the best.”

The new edition recommends Cahill in Securities: Shareholder Litigation and in White Collar Defense, noting the firm is known for "trying cases, not pushing paper," citing clients who praised the firm for its "‘talent and ability to focus on client service."

Within Telecoms and Broadcast: regulatory and transactional categories, The Legal 500 recommends Cahill’s Washington,D.C.-based communications practice, praising Cahill’s representation of key clients.

Now in its 28th year, The Legal 500 United States is an independent guide that surveys and interviews more than 250,000 corporate counsel each year. Firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit. It claims to truly reflect the needs of corporate counsel by focusing on the strength and depth of the teams (practice and associates) rather than simply individual partners.
